About this tool
Typewriter sounds are the background music of the 20th century: the relentless clicking, the crisp end-of-line bell, the shush of the carriage returning. Here each sound is a button — tap to play.
Every sound is synthesized live with Web Audio: no audio files, no copyright issues, safe to use in videos, podcasts or ASMR work. Try the classic loop: a few 'Key' hits, then 'Bell', then 'Return' — one full typing cycle.
How to use
- Tap any pad to hear the sound
- Adjust volume with the slider
- Hit 'Motor' to imitate an electric typewriter
- Enable 'Rapid mode' and hold keys A–L for a typing burst
FAQ
Can I use these sounds commercially?
Yes. They are algorithmically generated in real time, not sampled recordings, so there are no copyright restrictions.
Why is there no sound the first time I click?
Browsers require a user gesture before audio can play. Click any button once and it will work after that.
